ART TREASURES OF INDIA

Fardapur is the town where the famous caves of Ajanta.

India is a treasure not to be missed if you are traveling to this country.

The caves are located 1'5 km from the village and surrounded by nature and beautiful scenery.

This is the location where Ajanta Caves were first discovered by an englishman out hunting tigers.  He came over this ridge and sighted the caves in the valley below & the world became aware of these beautuful caves.  Ali and Shushu sometimes bring tourists to this point and bring them down to the caves below.  It is a really nice alternative to the main entrance a few kilometers away where you have to get a bus to access the caves.  The valley is in the shape of 'Om' and is especially beautiful during and after the rainy season when everything is green

TAHER ALI and his brother SHUSHU help and guide tourists visiting the Ajanta/fardapur area.
They are from fardapur and they are both multi-lingual (self-thought), speaking fluent english, japanese and korean and also some french, spanish, itialian, german.

Their openness and interest in people allow tourists who meet them to have a really warm and unique experience while visiting the area; they recommend local restaurants, bring people to local markets and let them experience local life in india.

With their knowledge of the area they can recommend and arrange all the best things to see and do and often help with finding accommodation or travel arrangements etc.

"My mother, Marie and I, Cynthia, went backpacking several weeks in India. We met Shushu (or Chouchou in french;) when we went to visit the Ajanta caves. He was so friendly as to give us both a ride in the surroundings of the caves. He made several trip back and forth to help us find an internet access or catch our bus which can be tricky in some areas of the country. He also showed us some of the stones he finds in the local hills and uses for his shop. Chouchou is very generous and helped us as much as he could. We spent a very nice and comfortable evening chatting with him. We won't forget his kindness."

  2. Brother Faaruk is also a fine young man. He took me on an excellent adventure to visit an old fort (not a commercial tourist spot!) and to visit an old Hindu baba in a remote cave that appears to be a temple of Ganesh. Good stuff!
